Our muffler fits almost all cars - but cars with a center-style muffler, such as an MR-S or the G80/G82 M4  will make installation more difficult.

We have included measurement photos of the exhaust in the listing. We recommend comparing this to your car, before your purchase. Certain cars, such as the BMW e38, don't have a factory cutout for an exhaust tip. You can either

  1. Install it further inboard, and have a muffler shop install a "turn down" to have the exhaust tips face downwards, as the car did originally
  2. Cut the bumper - we recommend doing this slowly. Mark over (1 inch surrounding) your cut with painters tape - and then mark that. The painters tape will help burs not stick to the bumper. Start with an angle grinder and finish with a rotary tool. Note that the plastic bits may settle into an abrasive style cutting tool.

6 cylinder, naturally aspirated BMW's (except 2.3 m52tu and z3 ) generally have two exhaust pipes running all the way to the back. These pipes are fairly flexible at the end - but their diameter is usually around ~2.25. Our mufflers have a 2.325 inner diameter at the entry. This can be sleeved or welded as is. It may be worth it to install a slight bend at the end of the tailpipe, before the muffler, as the 6 cylinder mufflers have a slight bend to them.

Most exhaust shops will weld on a muffler for a similar cost to having a specific-fit catback installed. Ensure that they use hangers for install.
